Alex Benn : This is excellent. No fancy tools. Quick and Concise. Just what we all needed. Thank you.
Alfonso Alvarez : Great video. Only one thing I usually do: do the marks to align on the spline too, reducing the risks of a misaligment.
Elijah Kendall : I just want to reiterate for anybody who sees this comment, that you really do not want to beat those bearings on, or bearings in general. That looks like a self aligning ball bearing. They can handle some axial load, but not the force from hammering it on. Not only will it lead to premature failure, but it will make it significantly harder to remove. Clean the drive shaft up with some coarse emery cloth, follow with fine emery cloth if you want to, apply anti seize, and slide it on.
TheMbhillrn : When putting the new CSB on, you don’t need a special tool. Take the plastic part out of the clamping nut and screw the clamping nut loosely back on to the other side of the driveshaft.

You can use this to push the new CSB in by sliding the two drive shaft pieces together.

Also, a gear puller will make taking the old CSB off much easier, and with no damage from a chisel.
Luismehh3 : “You don’t need fancy tools to do this job” This man has clearly proven that. Thank you!

How to replace Porsche Cayenne (2003-2010) driveshaft bearing center support | PCA Spotlight

-----------------------------------------
In this video, we fix a common failure point on the first-generation Cayenne: the driveshaft (or Cardan shaft) center bearing support. Instead of using an OEM part, which requires the removal of the driveshaft, we replace it with a two-piece part by European Parts Solution that allows the driveshaft to stay in place. As part of the repair, we repack the bearing with high-temp wheel bearing grease and replace a worn rubber flex disc.

jmattcarrasco : Vu, glad to see you doing some DIY maintenance on a Cayenne. I wrote you an email about the 958 Cayenne's transfer case and I look forward to a video on this item and whether or not this prone to failure part is in fact the Achilles heel of the 958 and as such buyer beware or if this is something that can be fixed for 100K's of miles without incident. Thank you.
tedjohnson64 : Very interesting repair!
Space_114 V : The issue with this short cut repair is the "solution" costs more than doing it the conventional way even factoring in labor to remove the shaft . I had my shaft rebuilt for $200 as in my search I found several Porsche indy's that will either rebuild and balance or exchange your old shaft for a much more competitive price plus around $150 to re and re the shaft back in.
hman05 : I have never seen a video of such detail that instills so much confidence in the watcher. Please continue
I am tempted o do this job (not a mechanic in anyway but love diy) what do you advise Vu?!
Rastapopoulos helmut : hello, where can we find the cardan suspension parts, thank you in advance for your answer
